Kali Sary brought Ubud's favourite restaurant, Three Monkeys down into the original Diners' Paradise of Sanur, bringing its signature casual elegance, innovative global cuisine and ambient vibes from Central Bali to the relaxed seaside resort. Sofas on the shady terrace with views of the sidewalk and the trees invite one into this food emporium, with its smiling and attentive staff. First thing you will need is one of their many mixed fruit drink combinations.
Head further in and enjoy the atmosphere in the vast bamboo pavilion with its rich textures of sandstone, thatched roof, and silk drapes. You will soon be tapping your feet to the funky jazz soundtrack as you pick up familiar tunes from the time when music was musical.
The extensive menu mixes modern Indonesian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cultures and cuisine.Old family recipes from Greece and Sicily inspire dishes like Prawn Saganaki and Yaya's Moussaka. Indonesian influences are found in the Pepes Ikan Tengirri (fish cooked in banana leaves), and the richly spiced Beef Rendang, while exotic Middle East influences are savoured in the Turkish pide topped with feta, roast garlic, olives and tomato harissa. Imports from Ubud include the famous wood fired gourmet pizza, and a decadent selection of Kali's sensational cakes and pastries.
