Born with a passion for fine food and great wines, Christian Vanneque established Sip Wine Bar and Brasserie in Seminyak, South Bali, as soon as the site became available. Born in Paris, Christian grew up in what was the only French circus of the time, before bidding farewell to the dancing elephants to ignite his appetite for the restaurant and hotel business.
Christian’s love of wine and genuine food is shown throughout the menu, with a focus on honest French cuisine and a lengthy wine list available to suit those on a budget right up to those wishing to try elite wines. The clientele is made up of a complete mix from locals to tourists in what Christian wanted to be “a little piece of Paris in Bali”. The philosophy of Sip Wine Bar is to provide an atmosphere and food that are both genuine and fun, but mostly the philosophy goes that “wine is king!” You’d only have to go as far as the bottle of 1811 Château d’Yquem on display in bullet-proof, temperature and hygrometrically-controlled glass to figure that out!
