Housed in a glorious bamboo structure overlooking a landscape of endless rice paddies, live bamboo and lily ponds, Sardine Restaurant in Petitenget perfectly in keeps with old Bali and provides simplistic pleasures. After falling in love with the island of Bali on holiday, owners Pascal and Pika decided to stay and set up Sardine providing delicious fresh foods and beverages. The ‘cuisine du soleil’ is tasty, healthy and yet light enough to suit the hot climates of Bali. Using only fresh seafood and homegrown organic vegetables, Sardine’s dishes change from day to day based on the catch from the daily early morning trip to the fishing village of Jimbaran. The vegetables and herbs are grown in their own organic vegetable garden in the mountain village of Bedugul, making the food on offer at Sardine delectably garden-fresh. An extensive list of exotic drinks and arak cocktails, the local brew, is also on offer in the lively bar and outdoor lounge equipped with day beds and the stunning outlook of the rice fields.
Sardine also has a boutique, selling home ware so you can take home some of Sardine’s effortless style.
